| Wendy
has had a long and close relationship, great love and appreciation for animals. For
26 years, she has bred and trained Arabian horses, championed and given homes to many dogs
and cats, and hand raised cockatiels and parakeets. She also worked as the Office
Manager of an emergency animal clinic for 8 years. She began her art career 26 years ago
when, unsuccessfully, searching for an artist to do a rendering of her first Arabian mare.
Without the benefit of formal art instruction, she did it herself. The
hundreds of pet portraits she has done since that time have come entirely from referrals.
Her animal portraits have
appeared on the cover of the Arizona Horseman Magazine and in numerous other
prestigious publications. Her pet portraits have also been featured in Invitational
Only Art Shows.
Wendy achieves remarkable
success in her commissioned pet portraits. Each rendering seems to capture the
individual character that endears the particular animal to its owner. |
