Automobiles have a predetermined capacity for towing. In simple terms, the maximum amount of weight that a vehicle can haul is determined by the manufacturer. If the weight indicated is exceeded, the efficiency and safety of the towing rig will be compromised. In general, it is not advisable to haul a trailer which exceeds the maximum load recommended for your vehicle. However, if you are looking to improve the towing capacity just a little for convenient handling of heavy loads, you might be able to do so by making some improvements to your truck.
